Dr. Zubin Dev Sharma is a highly accomplished Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist at Fortis Memorial Research Institute with extensive expertise in Neuro-gastroenterology, GI Motility, and Third-Space Endoscopy. Previously, he served as the In-Charge of the GI Physiology Lab at Medanta Medicity, where he played a significant role in advancing specialized gastrointestinal diagnostic services in India. He is credited with initiating Antro-duodenal Manometry and Colonic Manometry in North India and remains among the few specialists in the country performing these advanced procedures. Dr. Sharma has also developed an innovative Antro-duodenal Manometry device known as the KARE Catheter, contributing significantly to the field of GI motility diagnostics.
His international training includes Endoscopic Ultrasound training through the World Endoscopic Organization’s WISE Program and advanced training at Kitasato University. He was also nominated for the prestigious World Gastroenterology Organization’s “Train the Trainer” faculty development program in Gastroenterology. Dr. Sharma has served as Treasurer of the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopists of India from 2021 to 2024 and has been the organizing secretary for several renowned national conferences, including ENDOCON 2024, IPBC 2023, EPL 2016 & 2023, 3rd Space Meet 2022, and India Live 2021.
With over 70 academic publications, guidelines, and book chapters published in national and international journals, he is widely recognized as an invited faculty and speaker at major gastroenterology conferences across India and abroad. Over the past two years alone, he has delivered more than 50 lectures at national and international forums. Dr. Sharma has also contributed to establishing GI Motility Labs at several centers across India, including King George's Medical University and Apollo Hospitals. He has trained more than 15 international fellows in GI Motility and Manometry, particularly from the Middle East.
An outstanding academic achiever, Dr. Sharma was awarded the National Gold Medal in DrNB Gastroenterology in 2016 and also received a Gold Medal in MD Medicine. In addition to his clinical excellence, he holds an MBA in Health Systems from BITS Pilani, reflecting his commitment to healthcare leadership and innovation.
